final project
Treatment:
ANDREW is a hard working government official that is enjoying a beautiful Saturday morning on the golf course with his friends. He remembers that the repairman is coming to fix the washing machine around noon and calls his wife to remind her. He holds the phone to his ear. An excited young girl answers the phone with a loud, cheerful greeting.
“Hi honey, it’s Daddy. Is Mommy near the phone?” Andrews asks.
“No, Daddy. She’s upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Frank,” she answers.
Andrew is perplexed. His expression shows confusion and he slowly smiles and realizes that his daughter is simply confused.
“You don’t have an Uncle Frank, sweetheart,” he says.
“Yes I do! And he’s upstairs in the bedroom with Mommy,” she giggles.
Andrew is furious. His face turns white and there is a moment of panic in his eyes. He takes a deep breath and pretends to be calm.
“"Okay, then. Here's what I want you do. Put down the phone, run upstairs and knock on the bedroom door. Shout in to Mommy and Uncle Frank that my car’s just pulled up outside the house," Andrews tells her.
So the little girl runs upstairs and does what her father told her to do. She returns to the phone, panting a little, and explains that she has done what she was supposed to.
“Mommy jumped out of bed with no clothes on and ran around screaming, then she tripped over the rug and went out the front window and now she's all dead," she says.
"Oh, my God! What about Uncle Frank?" screams Andrew.
"He jumped out of bed with no clothes on too, and he was all scared and he jumped out the window into the swimming pool. But he must have forgot that last week you took out all the water to clean it, so he hit the bottom of the swimming pool and now he's dead too." She replies.
Andrews heart drops and he squishes up his face. He puts his head in his hands and takes a deep breath before replying.
"Swimming pool? Is this 854-7039?"
